Tom Hughes

Tom Hughes is Head of Risk & Financial Crime at Simplyhealth. Through his work with a variety of financial services firms, he has become well-versed in a wide range of risk and regulatory matters, and is particularly driven by delivering improved outcomes for businesses and customers through the embedding of positive risk cultures and frameworks.

Tom started his career in operational roles, which gave him a thorough understanding of the mechanisms of a financial services company, the customer experience and the motivations of his colleagues. With a strong focus on building relationships and developing his team, he has been effective in enabling the rapid adoption of proportionate risk and control practices that enable commercial outcomes.

Now working at Simplyhealth, Tom is thriving within this purpose-led organisation and is thrilled to be joining RISK London this year to talk about his experiences.
