Jennifer Geary is a COO and CRO with over 25 years of experience in finance, technology, risk and legal, across diverse industries from financial services to not-for-profit.
After gaining a B.Comm and Masters of Accounting at University College Dublin, she qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in Dublin. She subsequently transferred to New York to deliver risk-based consultancy for financial services clients.
In 2002, she came to London, where she spent 13 years in Barclays plc, initially in Investment Banking, followed by Wealth Management and finally as Chief of Staff to the Group General Counsel.
Having long held an interest in corporate social responsibility and sustainability, at that point, she seized an opportunity to serve as Chief Operating Officer of Save the Children UK, a £400m NGO which serves in 68 countries and helps 22 million children every year.
Since then, she has served as COO and CRO of several fintech companies, including Asto, an SME lending company created by Santander, and as Managing Director, EMEA, of nCino, a NASDAQ-quoted financial services software company.
From her experiences, she has penned two business books; How to be a Chief Operating Officer and How to be a Chief Risk Officer, and has collaborated to produce How to be a Chief People Officer. All books have received highly positive reviews and regularly feature in the bestseller list in their categories.
Jenny is also an author, speaker, board advisor and mentor to emerging businesses. She has attained qualification as a chartered accountant, PRINCE 2 practitioner, CISA and CISSP, and most recently completed a course in Sustainable Finance and ESG Investing at NYU Stern.
