PICCASO PRIVACY AWARDS SOCIALS NOVEMBER 2023

PICCASO Europe Awards, 11th November 2025, Grosvenor House - Nominations now open!

Now entering its fourth successful year, the PICCASO Awards Europe, powered by GRC World Forums, stands as the premier platform dedicated to recognising and celebrating the outstanding individuals, teams, and organisations making a significant impact within the fast-evolving privacy landscape across Europe. From navigating the intricate web of regulations like GDPR to pioneering ethical AI frameworks and fostering cultures of data responsibility, these awards shine a spotlight on excellence in all its forms.

Emma Martins, Chair of the PICCASO Awards 2025 expressed her enthusiasm for the awards, stating “I am thrilled to be supporting PICCASO this year, particularly for the awards event in November. It is wonderful to be able to recognise and spotlight some of the brilliant work, and brilliant people in this sector. Data and technologies are transforming our lives and our world. The critical role of data protection and privacy professionals has never been clearer or more important, but it is often a lonely, tough job. So being part of a growing community that supports, nurtures, and celebrates, and which is so grounded in human values and professional ethics, is not only a privilege, but also a genuinely joyful experience.”

Why Privacy Recognition Matters More Than Ever in 2025

The digital world continues its relentless transformation. The phasing out of third-party cookies is forcing a fundamental rethink of online data practices, pushing organisations towards more transparent, trust-based relationships with consumers built on robust first-party data strategies and effective consent management. Simultaneously, the rise of Artificial Intelligence, particularly generative and agentic AI, introduces unprecedented opportunities alongside complex ethical dilemmas and privacy risks that demand careful governance and oversight.

Furthermore, the global regulatory environment remains dynamic. While GDPR continues to set a high standard, the imminent implementation of the EU AI Act, coupled with ongoing developments in data sovereignty laws and cross-border data transfer mechanisms, requires constant vigilance and adaptation from privacy professionals. We also see a growing, necessary shift in perspective – moving beyond viewing data protection solely as a compliance burden towards embracing data enablement: responsibly unlocking the value of data to drive innovation and strategic advantage while upholding fundamental privacy rights.

In this demanding context, the work of privacy professionals is not just a legal requirement; it’s fundamental to building trust, ensuring ethical innovation, and enabling sustainable business growth. The PICCASO Awards Europe provide a crucial opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate those leading the charge.
