Former Minister of Energy in both the Thatcher and Major governments

Former Minister of Energy in both the Thatcher and Major governments, Lord Colin Moynihan was responsible for renewable energy policy and the British government’s R&D energy programmes. 

Prior to that he was parliamentary under secretary of state at the Department of the Environment where he worked as a member of the three-man ministerial team on the privatisation of the water industry. 

Lord Colin currently remains active in business as Chair of Amey - a leading United Kingdom-based infrastructure support service provider, Chairman and a Partner of Buckthorn Partners who specialise in energy transition and a member of InSport Education’s Advisory Board. In his role, Lord Moynihan supports the board in their focus on Amey supporting the UK’s energy transition efforts as well as the company’s continued development of its ESG programme in support of social value.
