Chief Risk Officer, African Reinsurance Corporation
Yvonne is the Chief Risk Officer at African Reinsurance Corporation, where she oversees all group activities for the Corporation. She has a passion to develop her industry and the actuarial profession in Africa. Yvonne also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Casualty Actuarial Society; she’s the first person based in Africa to have been elected to this Board by her global peers.
Prior to moving to Nigeria, Yvonne previously served as the Lead Corporate Actuary for the Travelers Syndicate in London. She has worked in various reputable international organisations in the US and UK, including Ernst & Young, Markel, and Chubb. Her experience spans African, European, American, and Middle Eastern markets.
Yvonne is a Fellow of both the Casualty Actuarial Society (US) and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Grinnell College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Honours in both Mathematics and Economics.
