Simon Hinks

After initially training as an accountant and then moving to work with data in the financial services industry, Santander and Norwich and Peterborough across all their products, Simin set up his own business over 20 years ago.

Simon calls himself a Data Protection Practitioner because he believes he is someone who always looks at how the business can continue to work and function within the data protection framework, within the UK and EU GDPR. Simon also works with countries and data protection outside of the UK/EU.

As a consultant, Simon has been the DPO or data protection advisor for Monese- online banking tool for those with no fixed abode, Choice Bank, Zip Co the buy now pay later provider, LifeTidy the open source banking app, Hitachi Finance, TickNPay a pre-payment card ship captains to name a few.

Other sectors have included not for profit, charities, schools, and airline loyalty platforms.

Simon writes all the required policies, build and delivers training modules to colleagues and also lectures GDPR at the Pittsburgh and Bolder Universities in the US.
