Laura Schmuttermeier

Laura Schmuttermeier is the Director for Risk, Compliance and Data Privacy at Hutchinson 3G UK Ltd. Her remit is split across various areas of regulatory compliance, including financial services, Ofcom and data protection. The focus is to deliver practical compliance solutions to support the business in achieving its objectives. Prior to this role Laura was a Director at Deloitte LLP where she focussed on delivering compliance and internal audit services to Telecommunications, Media and Technology companies. Her passion for compliance started during the completion of her law degree and was cemented when she was part of a team which carried out an independent investigation for the Audit Committee of a company embroiled into one of the largest bribery scandals. She believes compliance and risk management are critical to the success of a business but need to be practical and proportionate.
