James Bowling

James Bowling is a senior lawyer in BT’s data legal team, focusing on data security and government investigatory powers. He also holds a master’s degree in forensic computing and has a keen interest in digital evidence and investigation. He has held previous roles as a government lawyer specialising in security litigation, and as a legal officer with the Royal Air Force. More recently he has been involved in developing BT’s legal policy relating to ransomware as well as the development and implementation of recent security legislation including the Telecommunications (Security) Act 2021 and the reform of the Computer Misuse Act.
