Steven Klekas

Steven brings a well-diversified skill set to sustainability with degrees in executive business administration and chemical engineering, and over a decade of experience in the optimization and efficiency of operations. Steven has further developed his technical skills with a professional license in mechanical engineering and certification in commissioning, and developed his public speaking in Toastmasters International. Over his career, he has proven himself in many industries by driving positive outcomes that have helped minimize the negative impacts of operations while saving millions of dollars and simplifying processes. Steven enjoys significant challenges and worthy goals. As the Chair of the HVAC Sustainable Operations committee, he helps lead campus-wide sustainability efforts relating to infrastructure and energy use to support achieving goals of carbon neutrality and financial operating commitments. Steven has championed the department’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiative, chaired volunteer organizations, presented at national conferences, and served as President of the Toastmasters International Public Speaking Downtowners Club. Steven strives to lead positive outcomes for the organization, community, and local environment in everything he does.
