Russia’s data protection authority, Roskomnadzor, has created a commission for the protection of personal data.

During its July 22 meeting, the authority decided to create two outstanding commissions as part of the Public Council (OS), one for the protection of personal data and a second for the protection of children from destructive and dangerous content.

Information regarding the commissions has not yet been disclosed.

Only in March 27 this year did Russia amended its data protection legislation by enhancing personal data subjects’ rights by changing fines and extending the limitation period for data-related breaches.
