Managing Director and Founder, Aevitium Ltd
I advise boards, executives, and founders when risk becomes strategic, contested, or decision-critical.
This often occurs where governance frameworks are in place but no longer shape behaviour or outcomes, or where organisations are in earlier stages and need to establish proportionate governance arrangements. Regulatory expectations may be increasing, growth or transformation may be accelerating, or leadership teams may be facing decisions with material long-term consequences.
My work focuses on the practical interaction between risk, governance, culture, and leadership behaviour. In particular, I concentrate on how decisions are made, challenged, and owned in practice, especially under pressure or uncertainty, rather than on the design of additional frameworks or models.
Alongside my advisory work as Founder of Aevitium LTD, I act as a fractional Chief Risk and Compliance Officer for a regulated fintech operating under an agent model. This keeps me closely engaged with regulatory expectations, sponsor oversight, and the realities of operating within defined constraints.
I also hold non-executive and committee chair roles within purpose-driven organisations, where my contribution centres on independent judgement, effective challenge, and strengthening decision discipline at board level.
Prior to advisory work, I spent over two decades in senior risk leadership roles across global financial services, including Chief Risk Officer positions. That experience continues to inform how I approach accountability, escalation, and the limits of formal control.
I am the author of The Risk Within, which examines how culture, fear, and silence influence risk outcomes and organisational decision-making.
I work selectively and value engagements grounded in clarity, trust, and long-term effectiveness.
