Head of Movement Building and Policy, Chayn
Eva is Head of Movement Building and Policy at Chayn. She is a researcher and policy expert who has been working on technology and human rights for over ten years, with a particular focus on gender issues. Prior to joining Chayn, she worked as a Senior Policy Adviser at the Royal Society, the UK’s national academy of sciences, where she covered issues related to the use of AI for science.
She previously worked for eight years as a Senior Researcher at Privacy International, where she worked on the intersection of gender, privacy, and technology. During her time at Privacy International, Eva has worked with UN special rapporteurs in the past, including the former Special Rapporteur on Privacy, as she contributed to his 2019 report on gender and privacy. Similarly, the former UN Special Rapporteur on Extreme Poverty cited her submission on the topic of digitalisation of welfare systems in his 2019 report. She was also an external reviewer for the World Health Organisation’s report Ethics and Governance of Artificial Intelligence for Health - WHO guidance. Since joining Chayn’s she has been carrying on delivering training on online safety to non-profits.
