Senior Advisor – ESG Strategy & Global Impact, The ESG Institute

Drive research and innovation initiatives in ESG, contributing to cutting-edge methodologies and cross-sector solutions that advance the field of sustainability and responsible business. This role involves working at the frontier of ESG thinking, helping to develop the frameworks and approaches that will shape how organisations integrate sustainability into their operations and strategy in the years to come.

The work supports the design, development, and international dissemination of sustainability frameworks, ensuring that these frameworks are not only theoretically sound but also practically applicable across diverse organisational contexts and geographical settings. This involves synthesising insights from academic research, regulatory developments, and practical implementation experiences to create frameworks that are both rigorous and usable.

A key focus is reinforcing alignment with global standardswhilst recognising the need for frameworks that can be adapted to local contexts and sector-specific requirements. This balance between global consistency and local relevance is essential for creating sustainability approaches that are genuinely effective rather than merely compliance exercises.

The advisory role involves enabling organisations to integrate ESG into strategy, governance, and long-term value creation. This goes beyond traditional sustainability reporting to help organisations embed ESG considerations into their core business models, investment decisions, and strategic planning processes. The goal is to move ESG from a peripheral concern to a central driver of organisational strategy and value creation. Through this work, the Institute advances thought leadership in ESG whilst also providing practical guidance to organisations seeking to enhance their sustainability performance and reporting. The role bridges the worlds of research and practice, ensuring that cutting-edge thinking translates into actionable strategies that organisations can implement effectively.
