The search for the first GRC Woman of the Year has begun - we are now open for entries!

The Women in Governance, Risk and Compliance Awards is on a mission to honour, celebrate and support women in GRC businesses, champion their peers and help foster the next generation of female GRC leaders.

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to put together an impressive judging panel for our inaugural year, and we’ve enlisted the help of some of the industry’s most respected business leaders, advisors, and experts, including:

  • Lindsay Law, Head of Audit at NatWest

  • Giorgia Vulcano, EU Privacy Counsel at Coca Cola Company

  • Sharon Moore. CTO for Public Sector at IBM UK

  • Wendy McWilliams, Chief Legal Officer at Willmott Dixon

  • Lopa Patel MBE, Chair at Diversity UK

You can take a look at the full judging panel here.

We will celebrate the incredible women who are leading their organisations to new heights, champion the next generation of female GRC leaders, and spotlight peers and advocates who are trying to make the GRC business landscape a fair level playing field for all.

In addition to being an awards programme, the Women in Governance, Risk and Compliance Awards will be a year round community for women of all backgrounds and their peers to work together, support and encourage each other through a number of initiatives throughout this year and beyond.

Nicola Dowdall, Managing Director at the Women in Governance, Risk and Compliance Series, said:

“2020 was a difficult year for us all, but especially so for women, with research showing the devastating impact the pandemic has had on gender equality in the workplace. The Women in Governance, Risk and Compliance series is on a mission to bring together the great and the good of Governance, Risk and Compliance to champion, celebrate and support the amazing women across the globe who are changing the way that we live and work.

“Far more than just an awards ceremony, the Women in Governance, Risk and Compliance Awards will become part of the bigger Series - including the Women in Governance, Risk and Compliance Forum - offering a safe and supportive community for like minded individuals to come together and support, encourage and champion the very best of GRC business.

“Along with our partners and judges, I’m incredibly excited to learn more about the remarkable women that are changing the GRC landscape, and I look forward to sharing and celebrating their incredible stories!”
