Dr. Manny Ahmed

Dr. Mansoor Ahmed is the Founder and CEO of OpenOrigins, a company pioneering media authenticity technology to prove the trustworthiness of visual content - both at the point of capture and across historical archives.

Manny completed his PhD in Computer Security at the University of Cambridge, followed by a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Distributed Computing. His research and innovation span cybersecurity, blockchain, and consensus algorithms, areas in which he holds multiple patents.

Before founding OpenOrigins, Manny invented CoverDrop, a secure whistleblowing tool developed with The Guardian to protect sources and journalists. His work bridges deep technical insight with an important social mission - restoring trust in digital media in an era of synthetic content and misinformation.
