Director and Former UK Government Business and Trade Policy Advisor, SEC Newgate UK
Allie is a Director for Advocacy at the global consultancy SEC Newgate in its UK arm. She joined after a number of years in government, firstly on appointment by the Permanent Secretary to the Department of Business and Trade and latterly as a direct policy adviser to the Secretary of State.
She previously headed up EU and trade policy for Britain’s oldest business lobby group the Institute of Directors, working closely with a range of cross-sector businesses and politicians across all parties during Brexit and on wider international trade and investment issues.
She has sat in several expert groups in Whitehall and in Brussels, including the Brexit Business Taskforce, Northern Ireland Technical Advisory Group and European Economic Social Committee.
Allie also currently co-chairs the International Trade Group of the government-sponsored Professional Business and Services Council and sits on the IoD’s Council
