Why PrivSec Miami is a must-attend in 2022?

The US privacy landscape is currently fragmented. With nearly half of the States planning to introduce new privacy bills in the first half of 2020 but having to postpone them due to Covid-19.

Since California passed the ‘California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) of 2018’, there have been calls by industry, congress and factions of the White House to push forward the creation of a federal privacy law.

While it is looking more and more likely that the United States will see a federal privacy law passed in the near future, just what this looks like is still unknown.

Where we are now, means that there are multiple states planning and implementing their own privacy bills, which is leading to confusion and at times, differing laws from state to state.

PrivSec Miami, will focus on the current landscape of U.S. privacy regulations, what the future looks like and what it will mean for organizations across the States.

PrivSec Miami will also investigate the current threat landscape of cybersecurity, with cybercrime rising 600% due to COVID-19 pandemic. It is now more important than ever that organizations have the right tools in place to combat cybercrime.

As organizations across the United States disband large office settings, it has resulted in an increase in the number of professionals working from home - this brings a new set of challenges for organizations to tackle in protecting themselves against cyber attacks.

With the average cost of a data breach rising in 2019 to $3.92m, it is imperative that organizations are equipped with the latest advice, guidance and strategies across data protection, privacy and security.

With a new tax bill proposed in New York, dozens of New York’s top finance and tech firms are planning on moving south to Florida. This will see an increase in Florida’s business economy, but also in the recruitment and need for leading privacy and security professionals in the state.

PrivSec Miami will be the go-to forum for privacy and security information in 2022.
